GALAXY’S EDGE

WALT DISNEY WORLD

Hollywood Studios Theme Park

Florida

POSTCARD BOOK

I was in Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World, Florida just last week. As a Star Wars fan since 1977 I loved this place. The only postcard item I found on sale was this exclusive (although it is also apparently available at the Galaxy’s Edge located in the Californian Disneyland park, but with slightly different text on the bottom of the back cover in the small print – the Disney World book has ‘Lake Buenna Vista FL 32830’ on it) postcard book.

What I really liked about this poster collection is that it includes designs for Batuu and Black Spire Point, which is the area we now know as ‘Galaxy’s Edge’ which is located on the planet of Batuu. The poster design for ‘Black Spire Outpost: docking bay 7’ shows the area around the full-sized Millennium Falcon in the theme park (well, on Batuu obviously!) I think these designs are superb, but then I would as a massive fan, but I suspect these will be popular with visitors to the area. The book of postcards is $19.99 (before tax) which, if you consider Disney Park prices, is pretty good really (especially when on eBay they are selling for £30, plus £10 odd postage – eBay checked on 11th December 2019).

Rather than flood the main page with all 24 postcards I have created this special sub-tab so that people can come here and see all these excellent designs. I have also overlaid the reverse sides of each card so that you can read the planet write-ups for each (saves me writing these all up!)

This is a great 'Galaxy's Edge' themed postcard because this little droid is the DJ robot in the new Oga's Cantina area, which is well worth a look although it will put a dent in your wallet or purse! But we really enjoyed ourselves here.

Also, if you were a Disney World regular and think you recognise this robot, then your right. He used to be the pilot of the shuttle on the STAR TOURS ride before the re-fit when he was replaced with C3PO.

This is the first postcard I have come across which mentions MANDALORE, which I believe is connected to the television series which is coming out soon. This card could be great precursor to the series
