POSTCARD SETS

“DOGS”

I started collecting the two dog sets, one depicting adult dogs, and one Puppies, or young dogs, in the late 1970’s. There are thirty numbered postcards in each set, and these were given away free in the larger packets of De Reszke cigarettes, and other Godfrey Phillips Associated brands.

When I first started collecting these individual postcards were 75p each, but over the fifteen years it took me to complete both sets the price of each card increased through £1, £1.25, £2 all the way up to £3.75 each (this was before the days of eBay where presently they are priced anywhere between 99p to £5+ each, although bids seem to start around the £1.50 mark).

The two sets are numbered from 1 to 30 each, but the two sets are not individually identified by a title, but as one seems to depict adult dogs and the other puppies and young dog’s I have decided to label each set as such:
