THE ART OF DISNEY THEME PARKS

These large (A5 sized) postcards are official Disney issues sold through the theme parks themselves, both Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida (I don’t know about the others, but I have not seen any of these in the Paris park).

They have been around for a few years now, but I only get to pick up copies when I am on holiday in Florida (so once a year as things have stood since I started this webpage). These are expensive postcards being originally $4.99 (before tax) when I first started to buy copies. This year (2019) I noticed the price had increased to $5.99 (before tax) each. I think most general Disney theme park visitors buy just one or two cards and buy them as pieces of art rather than postcards. Having said that, I doubt I am alone in wanting to be a collector of these. Unfortunately for me these are ‘Really’ expensive on eBay and the second-hand market, often $10+ with an additional $10+ postage and packing (that’s just too much for my pockets). Fortunately, over my yearly visits I have managed to get a reasonable example selection of these cards. Some of the designs are excellent, others are good to OK, but what I will say is that I do not think any of them are boring or dull.

Regular visitors to the theme parks will recognise some of the rides being celebrated here. Other Disney fans will recognise characters from the animated films and other Disney programmes, including the Pixar and Star Wars films and franchises. Use the tabs above to view the postcard selectuons.
