One of two envelopes I have posted from onbaord the S.S. Uganda, which was the hospital ship for the British forces.

San Carlos was of course where the British forces first landed on the Falkland Islands.

Always nice to find covers with the stamp cancelled with the Joint Declaration 1971 cachet used as a hand stamp

Note how the Falkland Islands are included in this map of Argentina and that they are claiming sovereignty over part of Antarctica as well

I received this write up with the above cover when I bought it.

This is the earliest item in my Falklands Collection. It shows how the Islands have been British for a long time.

I have three other items of mail used, besides this one and the item shown below, with this ship expedition cachet and they all appear in my display section.

I found this on eBay on auction. It had a start price of 99p, so I placed an initial bid and then thought nothing more on it as I suspected it would (and should) have sold for much more, but no! I got this for 99p! Bargain (and another one of these for my collection).
